Singing in the tub...OOOO, don't worry, OOOO be happy, don't worry be happy now!
All Smiles (it is hard to catch a smile on camera, she usually just likes to look at it curiously)
Tomorrow Daisylyn is 6 months old. It is hard to believe that time can go so quickly. Oh how I have enjoyed each and every day of it!! One of my favorite things is when I go in to get her in the morning and she just beams with sunshine giving me the greatest smile and the brightest eyes.
Here is an update of her daily grind!
Food: she still prefers to eat every 2-3 hours when she is awake and usually drinks an 8oz bottle at each feeding. She has the cutest rolls all over as evidence. We have tried to feed her solids and it has proven difficult. We were using plastic take and toss spoons and they were not going well. I think she really disliked the texture of the edge of the spoon. I know she likes the food, because I have diluted it and given it to her in a bottle. I found some softer spoons at a consignment sale last weekend and she has been eating much better. I know she would be happier with more solids and probably sleep better, but it has been hard to get her to take them. Tonight we had rice cereal and peas and it was the most she has ever eaten by spoon.
Sleeping: Daisylyn has slept through the night one time. It was a great miracle about a week or two ago. She has a terrible time with sleeping last week due to we think teething. Two nights ago we decided it is time to let her cry it out and get to sleep on her own. A month or so ago we cut out the middle of the night feedings and have just been going in and comforting her. Well she is liking the middle of the night party too much. So on that first night she cried for an hour, where a good portion of it she was screaming. We just laid in bed sleepless and tired from about 2-3am. Last night I am happy to report, went much better. She woke up several times and cried a little, but no screaming. She was able to put her self to sleep and I only went in one time to put the blanket close to her cheek, give her her binky (which she is losing interest in) and cover her again with her blanket. I was so grateful to wake refreshed and rested. It is a rare treat!! Hasn’t happened much since her birth. I am eager and excited to have her sleeping through the night!!
Play time: Daisylyn loves to watch people, young or old. She is an avid observer and has been since her first months of life. I can tell she is soaking in things like a sponge. When she watches me brush my teeth she open her mouth and moves around her tongue and sometimes attempts to move her mouth like I move mine. She loves playing with our little friend Baby J. that I babysit. She will lie next to him and hold his hand or foot or ear or what ever is nearest. They will watch each other and smile, she is a bit giggler if you get her at the right moment. She is losing interest in her swing and bouncer and wants to be constantly moving, either bouncing on our lap (or the Johnny Jumper) or kicking her legs. Her newest joy is rolling. She has been rolling over and propping herself up for a month now, but just this week she is venturing what her daddy calls, the barrel roll where she rolls consecutively across the room until she meets an obstacle larger then her. She is now interested in grabbing and pulling things. Cords, table trays, papers, food we are eating, you name it! She loves to stroke and hold my hair, lately it has turned into grab and yank. Which is a great excuse to cut my hair short again. Which I am hoping to do soon.
The other day she was propped up on her hands and thighs/knees and she was looking at a toy about four inches out of her reach. She studied it intently and then would plunge to her belly and reach for it. She did this over and over. It was fun to watch. She was not able to get the object until I moved it a little closer, but oh was she determined and focused. What a sweet soul!!

Teething: Last week her first two teeth came in. We were anticipating it soon with all the knawing and slobbering. They are the two cutest little teeth.
We are loving watching our little one grow!! The pictures are from a few weeks ago. I will be taking a six month old shot here soon!

She's a doll. I hated letting Morgan cry it out, so he could sleep through the night. It was so hard to hear him screaming for so long and not do anything about it! But I don't regret it.
So cute! I love reading about what she is doing, she's a smart little cookie! Can't wait to see her, I can't believe I still have to wait 2 more months!
Such a charming smile.
I love you, Daisylyn.
I love the pictures and good luck with the sleep training. The best book I read on baby sleep help was "Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child." Highly recommend it.
