We made it through our first week of cloth diapering. Over all it has been a good experience. To begin with we are typically just using cloth when we are home. When we are out and running around we will use disposables. At least for now until I get the leaky problem resolved. We are also using disposables at night. The Fuzzi Bunz diapers work great most of the time, but they leak too if they are on too long. In the future I am going to experiment with adding soaker layers to the diaper, this should help my leaky diapers.
I have been doing a lot of research and reading up on how to sew diapers and diaper covers. I am going to attempt to sew some wool diaper covers. I took a walk yesterday to a thrift store a mile or so from my home in search of wool clothing to "upcycle" into cloth diaper covers. I am sure I will post more info on this when I actually venture into the sewing process. I purchases a wool skirt and vest to experiment on.
I also have been looking into buying more pocket diapers similar to Fuzzi Bunz. I made a purchase on Ebay. Posted is the picture from the distributor I am purchasing from. I hope they are decent diapers. I got a really good deal because I wasn't out bid. For $21.00 (that is including shipping) I am getting Five pocket diapers and ten soaker inserts. They are coming from China, so we will see if they are worth it or not. The color is a surprise too.
Stay tuned for more diaper updates.
